Where was web accessibility a decade ago, and where does it stand now? How much, if at all, have things improved during this time, or have things gotten worse? And can AI fix everything? Let's have a look at that together!
It's been almost 10 years since I started working in this industry. A lot has changed, other things have not. One of the things that did not change is my want to make the things I work on as accessibly as possible.
In this talk I want to talk about what I learned advocating for web accessibility within teams I was a member of, and later started leading myself, my own accessibility needs, and where things stand from my perspective.
I will also go into the emergence of generative large language models, and how they change the landscape.
Web developer, project manager, and team lead by day, and sleepy by night, aSyd🪿 has been described as "bad at describing themself" in the past, and this still holds true.
They like putting emoji, and other unexpected things in places they do not belong just to see how things fall apart because of that.
